Former Florida defensive tackle Caleb Brantley, a potential second-round NFL draft pick, is facing a misdemeanor battery charge for punching a woman in the face during an altercation on April 13, according to a sworn complaint filed with the Gainesville Police Department on Friday.
Two witnesses told police Brantley was the aggressor in the incident, which happened across from campus early in the morning of April 13, according to the police report. After being shoved by the woman, Brantley struck her in the face, knocking out a tooth and rendering her unconscious, according to police. The alleged victim also requires dental work, the report says.
