Big man Omar Payne of Kissimmee committed to the Florida Gators and coach Mike White Monday night.
Payne announced his decision on his Twitter account, choosing UF over Florida State, UCF, LSU, Ohio State and Texas.
The 6-foot-9, 215-pound Payne, who attends Clermont’s Montverde Academy, has a 7-foot-5 wingspan and is known for his shot-blocking ability.
Payne is ranked No. 38 by 247Sports, and is the 10th-ranked center in the 2019 class.
Payne joins point guard Tre Mann, ranked nation’s No. 25 player, in a 2019 class that is shaping up to be White’s best during four seasons at UF.
