The last time I saw Florida offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor was at the National Signing Day event at Cocoa (Fla.) High in February. Chauncey Gardner, a fellow Cocoa High star who was an early enrollee at Florida, also was part of the festivities.
The next time I see Taylor almost certainly will be the Gators’ season-opener against Massachusetts on September 3.
By all accounts, Taylor – who was a three-star recruit – will see playing time early in his Gators career. He is vying for the starting job at right tackle with sophomore Fred Johnson.
