According to a report by Graham Hall of the Gainesville Sun, the Gators’ baseball stadium will be renamed Condron Ballpark prior to the series opener against No. 1 Tennessee on Friday evening. The stadium has been known as Florida Ballpark since construction was completed in 2020.
The stadium will now be named after Gary Condron, the largest donor in Gator Boosters history. He’s donated about $22.5 million over the years, which has helped with the construction of the Hawkins Academic Center, the renovation of the O’Connell Center, the baseball stadium and several other things.
His name can be found all over campus, including the football team’s indoor practice facility that is also named after him.
