Florida senior forward Canyon Barry didn’t envision becoming a sixth man when he transferred from College of Charleston last spring.
“Everyone wants to play as much as possible, be a starter, contribute to the team,” Barry said. “But winning games at the end of the day is way more important, so happy I could help the team do that in whatever way it is."
The 6-foot-6 Barry was rewarded for his sacrifice and stellar play off the bench by being named SEC Sixth Man of the Year on Tuesday. Barry ranks second on the Gators in scoring at 12.
