Dan Mullen is Florida’s new coach, and the work has just begun.
Fans rightfully will focus on the recruiting trail. They want to see how well Mullen can hold UF’s current commitments and enhance the class further. But there’s another area of program-building even more pressing: Mullen must assemble a first-rate staff. A coach can be undone early if he whiffs on coordinator hires and assistant coaches.
Mullen brings the kind of experience needed to instantly give UF one of the best staffs in the SEC. His nine years of experience at Mississippi State should serve him well, as could the upheaval of staffs around the league.
