Florida has a major need at receiver after losing three four-star commitments in this recruiting class and 2017 four-star recruit James Robinson to a heart condition. We've seen them try to address that need with transfers, first with former Ole Miss WR Van Jefferson and now Grimes.
Grimes left Ohio State during the season to return home to Fort Lauderdale, FL in order to care for a sick family member and never returned to Columbus. It's unknown if this transfer is related to that or not.
As a freshman last season, Grimes only caught three passes for 20 yards.
