The Florida Gators already boast one of the top recruiting classes in the country, but they're far from done, making a strong push during the last few weeks of recruiting as we heads towards National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Here's all the latest news and rumors you need to know:
Florida to visit five-star CB
Gators running backs coach and area recruiter will make an in-home visit to five-star cornerback Kristian Fulton (Metairie, LA) on Wednesday, hoping to pull him away from LSU. Tigers head coach Les Miles also visited Multon earlier this week.
Fulton is schedule to make an official visit to Florida this weekend, but the fact that they don't have a defensive backs coach after firing Kirk Callahan earlier this month may hurt them.
Fulton will announce his decision between Florida and LSU on National Signing Day. He is ranked as the No. 2 cornerback and No. 21 overall prospect in the country.
Jim McElwain to visit four-star Houston commit
Florida head coach Jim McElwain and several assistant coaches are scheduled to make an in-home visit with four-star wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland (Houston, TX) on Thursday prior to his official visit to the Gators this weekend.
Cleveland has been wavering on his previous commitment to Houston, and he does have some ties to the Gators as he's originally from Jacksonville, FL. He is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 33 overall prospect in the country.
Gators one of two finalists for top OL
Four-star offensive lineman John Simpson (North Charleston, SC) said that Clemson and Florida are tied at the top of his list following his official visit to Clemson this past weekend, reports 247sports. He had previously made his official visit to Florida on Jan. 16.
Simpson cancelled his scheduled official visit to South Carolina this weekend, opting instead to take this week to mull over his decision. He is ranked as the No. 7 offensive guard and No. 151 overall prospect in the country.
