Royal Palm Beach (FL) offensive tackle Fredrick Johnson proclaimed the Miami Hurricanes his leader after a visit to their campus just two weeks ago, but the Florida Gators remain in the mix for his services with an official visit on tap for this weekend.
“I want to see everything that I wanted with the last visit, just the school environment, academics and the facilities and stuff,” Johnson said of Florida, via 247Sports.
With National Signing Day just a few days away, other contenders like the Virginia Tech Hokies have fallen by the wayside, leaving just two programs in the running for his signature.
“Miami and Florida really,” Johnson said of the programs he's choosing between.
The three-star prospect received a visit from Florida offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier earlier this week, receiving a pretty simple message from him.
“He said that Florida is a great place, it’s in the SEC and how I’m a fit for the program,” Johnson said. “They need tackles and stuff like that.”
