The Florida Gators have their fair share of impact talents to work with on their road to College Football Playoff glory in 2015, and these next guys are the biggest assets of all. Here's our list of the 6 Best Florida Football Players For 2015.
6. DE Alex McCalister
McCalister is both the present and the future of Florida's pass rush. The 6-6, 238-pounder showed hints of his potential with his 23 tackles and six sacks in 2014, and he's got as good a shot as any of doing right by Fowler's legacy on the edge. We expect him to have a breakout 2015 with extended game reps.
5. SS Marcus Maye
Maye is versatile enough to play both safety spots, with his range and athleticism making him a top-tier asset when shifted over into the free safety spot. The now-junior standout finished with 62 tackles, five pass breakups and an interception last season, shifting over into multiple roles and providing massive help against the run when called upon.
4. DE/DT Jon Bullard
Bullard is a force whether lined up at defensive end or tackle, possessing superstar speed and strength at 6-3, 277 pounds. Nobody on the Florida defense is quicker off the snap, and that's going to work wonders for the Gators as they transition him into a pure pass rushing role in 2015. We'd be floored if he doesn't at least pick up six sacks this coming season.
3. WR Demarcus Robinson
Robinson has NFL quickness at 6-2, 197 pounds and the hands to make those wheels count. He hasn't had a chance to work with a legitimate aerial playmaker at the QB position, but the nation better watch out when he does. As it stands, he is a #1 receiving threat who has home run potential every time he touches the ball.
2. LB Antonio Morrison
Morrison was the team's leading tackler in 2014 with 101 stops, including 16 against South Carolina, 15 against Georgia and 14 versus LSU. He posted six double-digit tackling games while shifting from inside to outside, and his controlled brutality against the run will serve as the anchor for what should be one of college football's stingiest defenses on the ground.
1. CB Vernon Hargreaves III
Hargreaves is the ultimate cornerback -- smart, tough and unrelenting as an open-field hitter. He's so polished that SEC offensive coordinators are altering their gameplans to throw away from him, neutralizing their own top targets as Hargreaves makes mincemeat of them on the outside. There's not better secondary playmaker out there and we're sure he'll make some NFL team VERY happy as a #1 corner down the line.
