Seminole Ridge graduate, FAU running back Kerrith Whyte showing early improvements; notes from Tuesday’s practice

BOCA RATON — All eyes on Florida Atlantic’s potent offense are rightfully on reigning Conference USA MVP and third-team AP All-American running back Devin Singletary (American Heritage-Delray). Head coach Lane Kiffin took Tuesday to single out and praise another running back who is dangerous in his own right.

“(Kerrith Whyte) has gotten stronger and improved his game — (he’s been) one of the most improved players, which is good,” Kiffin said of the fourth-year Owl. “Last year, he was a little bit more ‘big-little,’ (producing) perimeter plays, space plays. We want him — which he has, he’s gotten bigger — to where he can be an every-down back.
