BOCA RATON — The start of fall training camp in college football has long been compared to Christmas in August. As the Lane Kiffin Train rides through South Florida, the gift of winning looks to become a permanent fixture at Florida Atlantic.
Only two seasons removed from a 3-9 record under Charlie Partridge, the Owls have become one of the nation’s feel-good stories, led by Kiffin’s redemption as a head coach – and a six-year contract extension to go along with it – and American Heritage graduate Devin Singletary’s FBS-best 32 rushing touchdowns last year.
The 2018 season features the highest expectations in program history, with the Owls coming off an 11-3 record and a Conference USA title.
