BOCA RATON — Eventually, Florida Atlantic’s dangerous running backs group was going to break out and post the impressive numbers they’re capable of producing.
While few things went well in FAU’s 56-36 loss to No. 16 UCF on Friday night, head coach Lane Kiffin was at least pleased with how the Owls fared in the running game. FAU ran for 320 yards and four touchdowns on 50 carries against the Knights, averaging 6.4 yards per attempt.
“We kind of challenged the offensive line after the first two weeks that you gotta be able to run the ball better,” Kiffin said.
