BOCA RATON — Starting the 2018 season against a high-octane, explosive Oklahoma Sooners offense was enough of a challenge for Florida Atlantic’s veteran defense.
Going from Oklahoma’s vaunted offense to Air Force and the triple-option is something else entirely, but it’s a task FAU (0-1) needs to deal with when the Falcons (0-1) come to Boca Raton this Saturday (2 p.m., CBS Sports Network/Facebook).
“They’ll probably be the most disciplined people on Earth,” said sophomore safety Zyon Gilbert. “We just have to come out and be disciplined as well.”
An Owls defense which has been called both “stingy” and “aggressive” looked anything but in Saturday’s 63-14 loss to Oklahoma.
