In the moments following Florida Atlantic's 42-24 loss to Old Dominion on Saturday night, Owls receiver Kalib Woods and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair diagnosed FAU's second-half issues.
It was a dearth of energy and the onset of fatigue, they said, that plagued the Owls in the second half after taking a 21-13 edge into the locker room. They were outscored 29-3 and outgained 359-158. On Monday, coach Charlie Partridge said he felt the team's tiredness at halftime.
"I was concerned about their fatigue level and it was probably part of the factor there in the third and fourth quarter, quite honestly," Partridge said.
