BOCA RATON — It only took five years, but DeSean Holmes has finally reunited with Lane Kiffin.
A former three-star recruit from California, Holmes initially committed to Southern Cal in the spring of 2013, only months before Kiffin was fired at Los Angeles International Airport. Half a decade and multiple stops for each later, the two are now at Florida Atlantic, where Holmes has quickly proved to be a versatile option in the passing offense.
Not that Kiffin, who is entering his second year as FAU head coach, remembers much from his initial days recruiting Holmes.
“That was a lot of drama ago,” Kiffin deadpanned.
