On rain-soaked Monday, Owls 'sloppy' with the football

Two days after lightning interrupted Florida Atlantic’s football practice, steady rain soaked the Owls’ practice on Monday morning.

Rain bands stemming from Tropical Storm Emily made for a sloppy practice, with Owls coach Lane Kiffin unhappy with the number of turnovers.

“We play games in this so it’s good for our players to see that and learn how to practice in that so they can play better in the games,” Kiffin said. “A little bit sloppy today, too many turnovers, which is a good lesson for our guys to learn. Got to be even safer with the ball and throw even more accurate balls when you have conditions like this.
