BOCA RATON — By his own admission, Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley is entering unfamiliar territory.
The No. 7 Sooners opening their season against a Group of Five program in Florida Atlantic is familiar, sure, as is coaching against a former Power Five head coach in FAU’s Lane Kiffin. But potentially facing an ex-Sooners quarterback, redshirt freshman Chris Robison, is a new challenge for Riley.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever had to deal with something like this before,” Riley said during Monday’s Big 12 teleconference, “but he’s a talented kid, no doubt about it. There was a reason that we wanted to bring him here to Oklahoma and I know that we were all disappointed that things didn’t work out, but I’m happy for him – it seems like he’s found a great fit.
