BOCA RATON — Always trying to be the playmaker wasn’t going to work for Florida Atlantic defensive end Ernest Bagner.
If Bagner wanted to see consistent time on the field and improve on a junior season he admittedly called disappointing, the one-time top junior college prospect needed to change his approach.
“I started focusing on the whole defense instead of just myself,” Bagner said. “Last year, I was just trying to be a playmaker, trying to make every play. This time, I’m focused on doing my assignments and letting the plays come to me.”
An already-loaded FAU defensive line looks to be even better in 2018 with Bagner and former “Last Chance U” star Tim Bonner each strongly improving their play at defensive end.
