BOCA RATON — With a week until Florida Atlantic begins its most anticipated season in program history, Lane Kiffin isn’t hiding his concerns about the team’s wide receivers group.
“We’ve not been very pleased with the depth there,” Kiffin said. “We’re not very pleased with that position’s production as a whole at all.”
FAU’s wide receiver group was expected to be perhaps the deepest group on offense this season despite losing senior starters Kalib Woods (24 catches for 619 yards and four touchdowns) and Kamrin Solomon (33 catches for 388 yards and a touchdown). Though only two wide receivers on this year’s team – sophomore Willie Wright and senior DeAndre McNeal – caught more than nine passes last year, FAU is expecting to get heavy production from former West Virginia wideout Jovon Durante, who sat out last year after transferring from the Mountaineers.
