As a high school sophomore, he was offered a scholarship by Kiffin when he was the USC coach. A few years later, they will finally reunite when Holmes begins summer workouts. He is one of the most anticipated members of the 2018 recruiting class.
“He’s always been cool with me,” Holmes said of Kiffin. “He opened his arms to me and we’ve kept in touch over the years. We always speak.”
Holmes de-committed from USC when Kiffin was fired in 2013. It was the beginning of a lengthy journey for Holmes. He signed to play at San Diego State but left the program during his first season because of personal reasons.
