BOCA RATON — After a dismal 63-14 road loss to No. 7 Oklahoma last week, Florida Atlantic faces another challenge when the Air Force Falcons come to Howard Schnellenberger Field on Saturday.
Normally, a team coming off a 5-7 season that beat FCS Stony Brook 38-0 to start its season wouldn’t be too intimidating for a FAU program which went 11-3 last season and won both the Conference USA Championship and the Boca Raton Bowl under Lane Kiffin. But Air Force (1-0) has a trick up its sleeve that FAU (0-1) dreads facing: the triple-option offense.
“It doesn’t make your team better,” Kiffin said of facing Air Force.
