Entering the week, Miami Hurricanes coach Jim Morris couldn't help but wonder if any of his players would be selected in Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft while Miami was on the field playing for a berth in the College World Series.
Turned out that's exactly where a handful of them were when their names were called, including pitcher Danny Garcia, who started for Miami on Saturday when the Hurricanes fell to Boston College 5-3 in the second game of their Super Regional. As Garcia tried to work his way through the Eagles' lineup, the Seattle Mariners drafted him in the 15th round with the 447th overall pick.
