Former Florida Atlantic coach Charlie Partridge has a new job, accepting an assistant coaching position at Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Partridge, who coached the Owls for three seasons, will coach the defensive line for the Panthers. He worked at Pitt for five seasons from 2003-07 in multiple roles, including coaching the defensive line, linebackers and special teams.
Partridge went 3-9 in each of his three seasons in Boca Raton, and was fired Nov. 27 with two seasons remaining on his five-year contract. FAU was set to pay more than $1 million to Partridge over the rest of his contract, but, due to a contract clause, will now pay around $200,000 since Partridge has accepted a new job.
