BOCA RATON — If Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic Owls are serious about repeating as Conference USA champions, they certainly have the depth to do so.
FAU enters its season-opener against No. 7 Oklahoma on Saturday (noon, Fox)with six players who were named to the All-CUSA preseason team, including AP All-American running back Devin Singletary (American Heritage) and dangerous senior linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. FAU also returns 10 starters on defense and finally gets to use both quarterback Chris Robison and wide receiver Jovon Durante, both of whom redshirted last season after transferring from Oklahoma and West Virginia, respectively.
Beyond the big name stars is a roster featuring plenty of talented depth players capable of giving the Owls a boost this season.
