BOCA RATON — Lane Kiffin and Devin “Motor” Singletary were each responsible for bringing plenty of hardware to Florida Atlantic in 2017. Later this month, the two are set to be honored for their efforts and, potentially, both receive some personal hardware for themselves.
Kiffin, the veteran head coach who led FAU to an 11-3 record in his first year as Owls coach, will be honored as Coach of the Year by the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame on March 25. Singletary, a former American Heritage-Delray star who ran for an FBS-best 32 rushing touchdowns and finished with 1,920 rushing yards in 2016, will join former Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson (Boynton Beach) and golfer Alexa Pano (Lake Worth) as finalists for Amateur Athletes of the Year.
