BOCA RATON — Before taking questions about Florida Atlantic’s 12th win in its past 13 games, Lane Kiffin only wanted to praise the media sitting in FAU Stadium’s interview room.
“I commend you guys for watching that second half,” Kiffin said. “Still here, huh?”
One would think Florida Atlantic, a program with only four winning seasons at the FBS level in 15 years, lost to FCS foe Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night based on Kiffin’s comments. Just the opposite. FAU (2-1) won its second straight game with a 49-28 victory over the Wildcats and has now won nine straight games at Howard Schnellenberger Field.
