BOCA RATON — Jovon Durante’s first game in a Florida Atlantic uniform has taken a bit too long for his liking.
A former four-star recruit from Miramar who spent his first two years at West Virginia, Durante transferred to FAU last summer, but NCAA compliance rules meant he had to sit for a year. As Durante served as the No. 1 receiver for FAU’s scout team, the Owls overcame a 1-3 start to win ten straight games, the Conference USA Championship Game, and the Boca Raton Bowl.
“All my years of playing football, I never sat out a year,” Durante said.
