BOCA RATON — For the second straight season, Florida Atlantic running back and former Seminole Ridge standout Kerrith Whyte has been named Conference USA’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
With FAU’s lead cut to 26-21 midway through the 3rd quarter, Whyte returned a kick 100 yards for the longest play in FAU history. FAU (3-3, 1-1 in C-USA) outscored the Monarchs (1-5, 0-3) 20-6 after Whyte’s second career kick return touchdown.
“The ten guys in front of me did a great job,” Whyte said on Saturday night. “It was a great momentum shift in the game.
