Florida Atlantic ranked No. 25 by Sports Illustrated

After being left out of the preseason USA Today/Coaches Poll, the Florida Atlantic football team made an appearance in another.

On Tuesday, the Owls were ranked No. 25 in the Sports Illustrated preseason poll. It is the first time they have been ranked by any publication, yet another achievement under second-year coach Lane Kiffin.

The attention comes a year after the Owls finished 11-3, won the Conference USA title and defeated 50-3 Akron in the Boca Raton Bowl. They return several key players from last year, including running back Devin “Motor” Singletary, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair and safety Jalen Young, who are all considered NFL prospects.
