— In no way is Florida Atlantic baseball John McCormack trying to show any disrespect.
His team opens play Friday in a Coral Gables NCAA regional that features the tournament's No. 3 overall seed, but that is the least of his worries. The Owls aren't that concerned with being paired with the University of Miami but rather the opponent they know little about.
They play Long Beach State at 1 p.m., Friday at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field. The teams have never met.
"I'm more concerned with Long Beach State, which we've never seen before," McCormack said.
