BOCA RATON — Addressing the quarterback battle and the offensive line struggles remain Lane Kiffin’s priority in his second season at Florida Atlantic. But over the past year, a smaller challenge has presented itself.
FAU’s defensive line, a unit Kiffin called the team’s biggest position of need last spring, has now become one of the program’s deepest units. The defensive line is so deep, in fact, that Kiffin and defensive line coach Eric Matheis have to constantly figure out how to balance the depth and get every player the right amount of snaps.
“It’s been very competitive,” Kiffin said, using rising senior defensive end Ernest Bagner as an example.
