BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic had seven players named to the Conference USA All-First Team last season. If one had to guess all seven, local products Devin Singletary (American Heritage-Delray) and Jalen Young (Seminole Ridge) are easy answers, but rising senior cornerback Shelton Lewis would have likely been a tougher guess.
Though in Lewis’ defense, good cornerbacks rarely get any attention or action. After all, quarterbacks deciding not to throw his way — and making costly mistakes when they did — is why Lewis was one of two cornerbacks named to the All-Conference First-Team, joining UAB junior Darious Williams.
