BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic will close non-conference play next season by hosting the Wagner Seahawks on Sept. 21, 2019, FAU announced in a press release on Wednesday afternoon.
FAU previously hosted Wagner, an FCS program from Staten Island, New York, on Aug. 31, 2012. Carl Pelini’s debut as head coach – and the first game in program history not coached by founder Howard Schnellenberger – ended in a 7-3 FAU win, one of only three victories for the Owls that season.
Wagner is the second New York FCS program to schedule a future game with the Owls.
