It wasn’t always pretty, but Florida Atlantic did what it had to do and what it was supposed to do against a one-win Western Kentucky team that’s not as bad as that 1-9 record would indicate, losing some close games to decent opponents.
Quarterbacks changed — with coach Lane Kiffin starting Chris Robison, going to De’Andre Johnson off the bench and then back to Robison — but the defense and running game remained strong as the Owls earned a 34-15 victory for homecoming at FAU Stadium.
With the win, FAU evens its record at 5-5 and now needs one more victory to gain bowl eligibility.
