Consider FAU head coach Willie Taggart a supporter of potential shakeup that could be making its way into college sports.
The NCAA Board of Governors announced Wednesday that it supports a proposal that would allow college student-athletes to earn money off their names and likenesses, a change that Taggart supported during a recent interview with ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
“They are changes that are probably needed and that’ll be good for our student-athletes," Taggart said during the interview.
Among the changes that were listed in the NCAA’s news release was that collegiate student-athletes would be allowed to reference their sport and school in advertisements, but not with school logos or branding.
