It took less than a week before Florida Atlantic felt the injury bug.
On Monday, coach Charlie Partridge confirmed junior defensive tackle Ray Ellis is likely out for the season because of a knee injury. The Owls are just four practices into preseason camp.
"Right now, he has a knee injury that we'll continue to evaluate," Partridge said. "It looks like he's probably going to miss the season."
Monday was the first day anyone within the program spoke to the media because the opening three practices were closed. Ellis, who was a projected starter, sustained the injury during Saturday's workout.
