Florida Atlantic was simply overmatched.
With hopes of upsetting No. 7 Oklahoma on the national stage, the Owls instead showed little resistance against the Sooners in a 63-14 loss Saturday afternoon in front of 86,402 fans at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
FAU was held to just 324 total yards and two touchdowns after the Sooners overwhelmed the Owls for a 56-point cushion in the third quarter with an offensive outburst of 649 yards.
The Sooners scored on their first four possessions and even scored on a blocked punt in a near flawless first half.
