BOCA RATON — If there wasn’t enough proof FAU had found a top tight end in Harrison Bryant, his latest honor should be the deciding factor.
Bryant, 20, was named to the John Mackey Award watch list on Friday after catching 32 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns last season. Named to the All-Conference USA preseason team earlier this week, Bryant is the first Owls tight end named to the preseason watch list since Nexon Dorvilus in 2013.
The annual award is given to the nation’s best tight end. Former Florida State tight end Nick O’Leary, who won the award in 2014, called the award one which “all tight ends dream of winning.
