BOCA RATON — Nearly two years after hiring Lane Kiffin, Florida Atlantic has taken another major step in its hopes of becoming a big-time football program.
Last week, the Owls unveiled a new $10-million locker room inside FAU Stadium. The new locker room includes more space – the school estimates the locker room has nearly doubled in size – and a players’ lounge featuring a large TV, a foosball table, and a snack bar.
“We were like 100 years behind normal places,” Kiffin said.
The newly renovated locker area includes personal nameplates on the lockers, safes for personal belongings which feature charging stations for cell phones and tablets, and vents to keep the equipment cool.
