BOCA RATON — After earning plenty of hardware for their numbers last year, Florida Atlantic running back Devin Singletary and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair have received their first accolades for their 2018 season.
Singletary, a former American Heritage star who ran for 1,920 yards and an FBS-best 32 rushing touchdowns last season, was named to the Maxwell Award’s watch list, an award annually given to the nation’s best overall player. Al-Shaair, who has the most tackles in program history (354) and made the All-Conference USA first-team last season, was among the players named to the Bednarik watch list, an award presented to the country’s best defensive player.
