What many followers of Florida Atlantic locally have known for some time now is coming to the limelight nationally.
Owls junior running back Devin “Motor” Singletary was named one of 10 national semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, FAU announced on Wednesday.
Singletary, after leading the nation in rushing touchdowns last season, is once again atop that leaderboard through 10 games in 2018 with 20.
The Deerfield Beach native and American Heritage-Delray product is tied for sixth on the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision’s list for career rushing touchdowns. His 64 have him even with Texas’ Cedric Benson and Indiana’s Anthony Thompson.
