On the first day of spring football practices, Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin made it clear how he felt about preseason accolades.
“The preseason rankings mean nothing,” Kiffin said.
Even though Kiffin is right, the Owls could find themselves receiving some preseason attention. They are ranked No. 19 in USA Today’s “way-too-early” Top 25.
Kiffin has repeatedly mentioned how he wants the program to be Top 25 worthy but would rather it come at the end of the season.
“I think it’s where you finish,” Kiffin said recently. “If you finish [ranked], that’s a big deal.
