BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic junior tackle Brandon Walton is fully aware of the pressure on him to take more of a leadership role this season.
“It’s definitely a big jump going from the young gun on the offensive line (where) I’m seen as the guy who makes mistakes, he’s a young’un,” Walton said. “Now, I’m put into position to where I’m supposed to lay the foundation for everybody else (and) everybody else looks at me when there’s a problem. I had to grow up real fast.”
Walton knew he had to grow up fast if he and teammates are planning on posting their second straight winning season, as he and redshirt senior Reggie Bain are the only two starting offensive linemen to return from last year’s team.
