FAU junior D’Anfernee McGriff splitting time at tight end and running back after losing over 40 pounds

BOCA RATON — D’Anfernee McGriff has once again found himself switching positions for Florida Atlantic.

After arriving at FAU last year as a wide receiver and immediately moving to tight end, McGriff converted to running back in the spring as the Owls hoped to find a bigger, bruising back who could replace Buddy Howell. With less than three weeks until FAU opens at Oklahoma on Sept. 1, McGriff is now seeing time both at running back and tight end.

“Right now, I’m more of a versatile guy, so wherever the team needs me, that’s kind of where I go to,” McGriff said.
