BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic quarterback Chris Robison’s leash is getting tighter after three subpar starts in a row. In fact, there may not be much of a leash going forward.
Speaking to reporters on his weekly teleconference call, FAU head coach Lane Kiffin didn’t shoot down the idea of re-opening the quarterback battle between Robison, redshirt junior De’Andre Johnson, and graduate student Rafe Peavey if either backup had a strong week of practice.
“Obviously, we’re not playing great there, so yeah, we’re willing to do anything to help us win,” Kiffin said.
The three competed for the starting quarterback job throughout the summer before Robison was named the starter a day before the Owls’ season-opening 63-14 loss to Oklahoma on Sept.
