Charlie Partridge, the South Florida native and highly regarded recruiter, did not survive three calendar years as Florida Atlantic’s football coach. FAU fired Partridge on Sunday morning, a day after completing a third straight 3-9 season in Boca Raton.
FAU, which finished its season with a 77-56 loss to Middle Tennessee State on Saturday night, will search for its fifth coach in program history. Partridge finished his tenure 9-27.
Under Partridge’s watch, the Owls suffered their worst loss ever, their worst home loss ever, the most points allowed in a game, the most yards allowed in a game and the most rush yards allowed in a game.
