Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin made a strange decision when he put receiver John Franklin III at quarterback late in Saturday’s blowout victory at Old Dominion.
Franklin entered ahead of sophomore Daniel Parr, who started the first three games before being replaced by Jason Driskel. Kiffin said the move was made mostly because he wanted to try a different look.
Franklin, who transferred in the offseason, played quarterback previously at Florida State and Auburn before switching positions.
“It was a package that we had ready,” Kiffin said. “It was actually ready two weeks ago, too (against Middle Tennessee State).
