BOCA RATON — FAU center Ronald Delph scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds to help the Owls snap a four-game losing streak with a 77-72 win over the rival Florida International Panthers.
FAU (5-9, 11-15 in Conference USA) outscored the Panthers (5-9, 11-16) 38-30 over the final 20 minutes. Delph scored 14 points in that time on 6-of-8 shooting, grabbing four rebounds and adding a block in 15 second-half minutes. Guard Gerdarius Troutman added 12 second-half points and finished with 17 total points.
Justin Massey scored 18 points, making four of his nine shots from long-range, and senior forward William Pfister grabbed eight rebounds before fouling out.
