When Florida Atlantic coach Charlie Partridge was an assistant at Pittsburgh, the program would hold an annual practice at one of the area high schools.
It was a form of advertising for the local talent.
Now in charge, Partridge is hoping to bring a similar tradition to FAU. The Owls held a practice Tuesday at Carter Park that served a recruiting tool for players and fans. About 300 were in attendance for the two-hour long session. The park is about 30 minutes south of campus.
"It's partly recruiting but also partly fan base," Partridge said. "It's unique that we're traveling but we're still local.
